Opposition parties: regime’s practices do no indicate a serious desire to dialogue

The Bahraini masses once again, prove their persistence to their patriotic demands in mass rallies demanding real democracy.
In a statement issued following Sunday’s mass rally, titled, “Change is coming”, the opposition parties warned of attempts to circumvent the popular demands, emphasizing that the people of Bahrain are well aware of their rights and will not be fooled. The people demand real participation in managing their country’s affairs far from the decades long official exclusion and discrimination and marginalization
The opposition parties stressed that any cosmetic dialogue is rejected and the opposition cannot accept to engage in another public relation festive like the previous so-called “National Consensus Dialogue” that was proven a big failure and revealed that the regime is not serious to change and respond to the demands of the political majority of the Bahraini people.
The statement pointed out that what is required is serious dialogue or negotiations which can reclaim the rights of the people in founding their government and executive and legislative authorities, in addition to other essential rights that were mentioned in the “Manama Document” and they represent the minimum in any political solution.
The regime’s practices, on ground, do not indicate a real and serious desire to conduct a dialogue or negotiations that can lead to an inclusive and long-term solution at all, the opposition parties added, as the regime’s violations against the people of Bahrain are ongoing.

شهدت المنطقة الغربية في البحرين تظاهرة شعبية كبيرة دعت لها قوى المعارضة عصر اليوم الأحد 2 فبراير 2013 ضمن ما أطلق عليه “نداءات الثورة” بالتزامن مع الذكرى الثانية لإنطلاق الثورة في البحرين قبل عامين في 14 فبراير 2011.
وشاركت أعداد كبيرة من البحرينيين من مختلف الاعمار والتوجهات والإنتماءات في التظاهرة التي جاءت تحت عنوان “التغيير قادم لامحالة”، والتي شهدت حضوراً نسائياً واسعاً، ورفعت خلالها أعلام البحرين بكثافة ورددت شعارات “لبيك يابحرين”.
كما رفعت شعارات تطالب الحكومة الحالية بالإستقالة وتؤكد على ضرورة الإستجابة للمطالب الشعبية التي خرج من أجلها المواطنون منذ عامين وحتى الآن، وتتلخص في التغيير والتحول نحو الديمقراطية بما يرجع حق الشعب في كونه “مصدر للسلطات جميعاً” ويتيح له انتخاب السلطات وتشكيل إدارة البلاد وفق إرادته الحرة المباشرة.
وأكدت الجماهير الشعبية المشاركة في التظاهرة على أن الحوار الذي تنوي السلطة القيام به يجري في ظل استمرار الإنتهاكات والجرائم التي تقوم بها عناصر النظام وأجهزته الأمنية، واستمرار الإعتقالات والقتل والفصل من الأعمال والملاحقة للمواطنين، الذين يختلفون في الرأي مع السلطة، من أجل الإنتقام منهم على مواقفهم.
وأغلقت قوات النظام بعض الشوارع والطرق المؤدية لموقع التظاهرة من أجل إعاقة وصول المواطنين لها، وأقامت حواجز عسكرية ونقاط تفتيش، إلا أن ذلك لم يمنع أعداد كبيرة من الإصرار على الوصول والتعبير عن رأيهم بكل سلمية وحضارية.
ومن المقرر أن تسير المعارضة يوم غد الأثنين (4 فبراير 2013) تظاهرة أخرى في منطقة الدير بجزيرة المحرق شرق العاصمة المنامة، ضمن سلسلة برامج “نداءات الثورة” التي أعلنت عنها وتشتمل على برنامج حافل من الإحتجاجات والتصعيد الشعبي للتأكيد على المطالب الوطنية لشعب البحرين.
